Terms of Service

1. What Curbspace is

Curbspace connects a driver who is about to leave a parking spot (the host) with a driver looking for one (the claimer). The fee a claimer pays is a courtesy fee for the host's time in waiting and giving advance notice of their departure.

Curbspace does not sell, rent or lease public street parking. Public curb space belongs to the city, and no one gains any right to it through Curbspace. Private driveway and residential listings are offered by the host, who confirms they have permission to offer them.

2. Your responsibilities

Obey all traffic, parking and local laws, including time limits, meters, permits and street-cleaning rules. Pay any meter or permit fees yourself.

Never block traffic, double-park unsafely, or use your phone while driving. Use hazards or flash brights only when safe and legal.

Give accurate vehicle details, and be respectful. Do not confront other drivers.

3. Fees and payment

The host sets the price. The claimer pays that price plus a Curbspace platform fee equal to 10% of it, plus any applicable taxes and payment processing fees. Payment is held when you claim and released to the host only after the handoff is verified.

4. Cancellations, no-shows and refunds

Claimers may cancel free within 2 minutes of claiming. After that, the host keeps 50% of their price and the rest is refunded.

If the claimer does not arrive within 10 minutes, the host may mark a no-show and keeps 50%.

If the spot is taken or the host is not there, the claimer can report it before the handoff is completed for a full refund.

For the wave-and-confirm handoff, payment releases when both people confirm. If one person confirms and the other does not respond within 5 minutes, the confirming person may finish the handoff.

5. No guarantee; limit of liability

Public spots are not guaranteed. Curbspace is not liable if another driver takes a spot, for parking tickets, towing, vehicle damage, injuries, or the conduct of other users. Our total liability for any handoff is limited to the amount you paid for it.

6. Accounts and ratings

You must be at least 18 and hold a valid driver's license to use Curbspace. Ratings must be honest and based on your handoff. We may suspend accounts for fraud, abuse, or repeated no-shows.
